Advanced Water Technology Center

Dave Vuono

PhD student. BS in Biology, University of Vermont. My research focuses on developing waste (biomass)-to-energy technologies (i.e., anaerobic digestion) for applications within the urban and rural infrastructure. I explore the fundamental questions dictating the performance and function of engineered biological systems as means of sustainable development in developing countries, the urban water infrastructure, rural, and decentralized communities. I also invesigate advanced wastewater treatment systems, such as membrane bioreactors, for treatment and reuse of impaired water in small communities. My research is funded by Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc. My faculty advisors is Professor Drewes.
